Broccoli and a smoked Mustard Cheese Sauce

Tonight I made corn on the cob, ham, roasted potatoes and steamed broccoli with a smoked mustard cheese sauce.

Smoked Mustard Cheese Sauce

-2 tablespoons butter
-2 tablespoons flour
-1 cup milk
-1/2 teaspoon smoked mustard
-1/2 cup grated havarti cheese

-2 cups grated old cheddar cheese
-1 tablespoon parmesan cheese
-salt and pepper to taste

-in a sauce pan melt butter and stir in flour, once melted allow to cook for a few minutes.  (I find it takes away the raw flour taste, but that could just be me).  Add the cup of milk or cream if your wish.  On medium-low heat add milk.  Continue to stir until thick, then add cheese, and smoked mustard.  I always add a little pepper as well.

Lunch

"The only real stumbling block is fear of failure. In cooking you've got to have a what-the-hell attitude."
— Julia Child

Yesterday, I had lunch with my friend.  This is a left over salad.  Use up all ingredients in fridge, broccoli, cauliflower, strawberries, peppercorn goat cheese. mushrooms.  It doesn't take much to create something fabulous you just have to try!
We also ate the rest of the Onion soup and the Lasagne.  No food wasted.
